Technical Data&AI Platform Owner
We areseekingan experienced and visionary leader to join our team as theTechnicalData&AIPlatform Ownerin our Operations IT department. This role will be instrumental in shaping and implementing our data and analytics strategy to support businessobjectivesandachieve our 2030 vision.
This role will play a pivotal role in developing andmaintainingan integrated data ecosystem,leveragingadvanced analytics to drive business insights, and ensuring data quality and security across our operationswhile efficiently managing AstraZeneca resources.
The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team responsible for designing, implementing, andmaintainingrobust data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Leadership
Collaborate withAstraZenecaOperations leadership and business partners to define and execute the data and analyticsplatformstrategy aligned with operations business goals.
Manage and lead a team of data and IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Data Infrastructure and Architecture
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a scalable, self- optimisingdatainfrastructureon AWS.
Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of data platforms tocomply withAstraZeneca enterprise standards.
Implement and manageplatform operations andcloud resources, focusing on cost optimization and operational efficiencythrough a mature DevOps model.
Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive improvement plan coveringfor the DA&AI technology stack:
New platform provisioning and onboarding
Usage analytics and cost transparency
Standards, governance, and regulatory compliance
User enablement through guides, documentation, and training
Change management and communications
FinOps and cost optimization strategies
Automation and process reengineering
Industrialization of data products and pipelines
Adoption tracking and continuous feedback loops
Data& InfrastructureObservability Platform
Develop, communicate, and implement an observabilityplatform forfive key pillars: Data Quality, Pipeline, Infrastructure, User, and Cost.
Implement strategy to reduce AWS and snowflake costs.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data and analytics within the pharmaceutical sector.
Look to use the latesttechnologiesin AI agentic frameworks to deliver aself-healing and self-optimising data platforms.
Qualifications
Extensive experience inCloudOps, DevOps,DataOpsand infrastructure setup and maintenance
Deepexpertisein Snowflake andFivetran, plus hands-on experience with at least two of the following:DataOps.live, Confluent (Kafka),SnapLogic,Cognite, Aera, Apache Iceberg, Neo4j.
Proven success in delivering platform enhancements and cost savings within Snowflake and adjacent technologies.
Experiencewith observability, Cataloguing,Qualityand integrationtools
10+ years of proven experience in a leadership role overseeing data and analytics functions, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Scaled Agile / Scrummethodologyexperience.
